2021 Rosé of Pinot Noir

2021 Rosé of pinot noir

winemaker notes

Our 2021 Rosé is alive with the excitement in which it was created. This vintage featured explosive aromas of white peach, hood strawberry, and Meyer lemon. The palate has a vibration to it. The hum of harvest encapsulated in a bottle, brimming with energy.

vintage notes

We started sampling at the end of August, hopeful and excited for what seemed to be an immensely flavorful vintage. On September 7th, we began harvesting and pressing our Rosé. All Rosé fruit comes from the Pinot block on the bottom slope of the Quartz Acorn Vineyard. It was our first Pinot harvest of the year— picked at a relatively low brix to increase acidity and freshness in the finished wine. We did a light foot treading before loading the fruit into the press and beginning fermentation in 100% neutral wood.

winemaking details

The clusters remained whole and intact while sorted by hand and loaded into our press. Once pressed, the juice settled into a stainless tank and barreled down in neutral French oak barrels for native fermentation. The wine was aged five months on lees in neutral French oak barrels from our father winery, Beaux Frères.

wine information

We sourced Pinot Noir for this wine from our organically farmed Quartz Acorn Vineyard in the Yamhill-Carlton. 900 cases were produced in 2021.
