Ode to Tomato Season

A Celebration of Summer

At Domaine Roy & fils, we believe each season brings with it a flavor, a feeling, a rhythm. This summer, pay homage to all things tomato—plump, sun-ripened, impossibly red, and bursting with life. Tomato season is our love letter to the garden, the table, and to the quiet elegance of simple pleasures done well.

We’re embracing tomato season with vibrant new market provisions that invite you to slow down and savor the joys of summertime. We invite you to discover them below.

Seasonal Features

Leasurely Times

Tomato-Tomahto by Piecework Puzzles
A feast for the eyes, this 1000-piece puzzle is an ode to the colorful chaos of peak produce. Think of it as a still life you can build—heirlooms and cherry tomato clusters scattered across a Sicilian-hued backdrop. Perfect for lazy afternoons with a glass of Pinot Noir in hand, it’s a tactile tribute to the fruit of the season. Best part? It comes with its own ‘Summer in Europe’ inspired playlist on Spotify.

Culinary Adventures

Originale, A New Italian Cookbook
Published by Gestalten, Originale is both timeless and modern—a curation of essential Italian recipes rooted in tradition, with styling that feels right at home in any contemporary kitchen. Whether you’re slow-simmering sugo or crafting a tomato confit, the pages echo the values we hold dear: heritage, craftsmanship, and beauty in simplicity.

The Art of Pairing

Tirrena Pasta
Of course, no ode to the tomato would be complete without pasta. Our shelves are stocked with Tirrena Pasta, the extraordinary Tuscan artisanal pasta from the Frescobaldi Family. Crafted with ancient grains, its glorious texture makes it the ideal canvas for peak-season tomatoes—whether they're freshly grated or roasted low and slow.

The Perfect Pick

2023 Yamhill-Carlton Incline Pinot Noir
To elevate this seasonal trio, we reach for our newly released 2023 Incline Pinot Noir. Grown on the sloping hillsides of Yamhill-Carlton, this wine is bursting with wild cherry, fresh herbs, and a hint of spice—a natural match for tomato-forward dishes. Its supple texture and graceful acidity complement the bright tang and umami depth of tomato sauces, from rustic ragùs to delicate pomodoros.

Italian Supper Club

Join us for the August edition of our Italian Supper Club, our monthly series inspired by the heart of Italian hospitality, where food, wine, and friends come together around the table. Hosted in our Dundee Hills estate, this evening brings the essence of slow Italian dinners to the Willamette Valley.

Journey with us to the sun-drenched coastlines and volcanic soils of Campania. From the cliffs of Amalfi to the streets of Naples, this region brings together bright citrus, fresh seafood, wild herbs, and the very best of tomato season.

The menu features a Caprese Salad, Spaghetti alle Vongole, Parmigiana di Melanzane and something sweet to finish. Seats are limited—reserve your place here!

Cheers!
